Uline Inc. is slightly ahead of schedule as it anticipates a May 1 start date for construction of its fourth headquarters building in Pleasant Prairie that could house up to 1,300 full-time employees.
The village Plan Commission on Monday approved preliminary site and operational plans for the new building, which stated the projected construction start date and said occupancy is expected by the end of April 2026.
Uline, a major distributor of shipping, packaging and industrial supplies, last month told the Milwaukee Business Journal it expected to break ground in the third quarter of 2024.
The company expects to initially have 470 to 770 daytime employees and around 30 evening and nighttime employees, the plans show. Many would relocate from other area Uline buildings, according to materials provided to the village earlier this year.
Slated to span around 370,000 square feet, the three-story building at 9900 128th Ave. will include conference rooms, dining areas, and a fitness facility, according to the plans. It will be located in the Prairie Highlands Corporate Park.
Uline purchased land for the building from the village last month. A large portion of the 44.8-acre site is to remain undeveloped.
Monday’s village approval paves the way for mass grading, underground utility installation, footing and foundation permits on the site, the village said.
Uline has eight other buildings in Pleasant Prairie, including two headquarters buildings, five warehouses, and a building that has both headquarters and warehouse space. It employs more than 2,500 people within the village and more than 9,000 total.
