Local officials toured the newest Amazon facility, 10601 38th St., that began operation earlier this month, taking a lap around the 1.11 million-square-foot building Thursday.
Kenosha County Executive Samantha Kerkman, Kenosha Area Business Alliance President Nicole Ryf and Parkside Chancellor Lynn Akey were guided around the latest addition to Amazon’s expanding Kenosha County campus, known internally as HMW3, mirroring similar expansions by other large businesses in the area.
Amazon HMW3 Site Leader Kristin Farchione said Amazon will have over 900 employees at the warehouse, going up to 1,500 during peak seasons.
The building, Farchione said, is just the fourth of its kind utilizing new technology to support the company’s same-day delivery operations.
