As we enter 2025 and prepare for Kenosha’s next chapter, I am filled with gratitude, excitement and optimism for our city.
We have many opportunities on the horizon, and I’m committed to keeping public safety our top priority, improving our infrastructure, investing in all neighborhoods, and working to streamline city processes for residents and business owners.
I also want to extend my deepest appreciation for the community’s trust and support since I took office in April and became the city’s 51st mayor. Together, we’re building a stronger, more vibrant city that honors our rich history while embracing the promise of tomorrow.
Development
Karrick is the first in a planned nine-block, $450 million redevelopment that is expected to add more than 1,000 new housing units and much-needed retail and office space to the area.
The last of the concrete foundation walls are being poured and pre-stressed concrete will begin being delivered and installed in early January 2025.
Cobalt Partners, a Milwaukee-based real estate development firm, is partnering with Fond du Lac-based general contractor C.D. Smith on the project that will set the stage for the foreseeable future of Kenosha.
Uline expansion
Uline, the leading distributor of shipping and packaging materials, recently announced the opening of the largest warehouse in Wisconsin, a facility among the top 20 largest warehouses in the nation.
The new Kenosha facility spans 1.44 million square feet, expanding Uline’s network of distribution centers across the Midwest.
The new warehouse, directly west of their existing four building campus, expects to employ more than 200 in a range of positions.
Since opening its first warehouse in Kenosha in 2009, Uline has experienced steady growth and remains a trusted partner to the city.
