Kenosha County Executive Samantha Kerkman released the following statement today after the announcement that global drug maker Eli Lilly and Company will acquire the Nexus Pharmaceuticals manufacturing facility in Pleasant Prairie:
“This is an exciting announcement, and further evidence that Kenosha County is a destination of choice for employers worldwide.
“While at the groundbreaking in 2019, we knew this state-of-the-art development held much promise for the region, and it is exciting to see what has transpired since operations began in 2021. Furthermore, this was a development that benefitted from Kenosha County’s High Impact Fund with KABA, and we’re pleased to see it continue and potentially grow further under its new ownership.
“Pharmaceuticals is an industry that will continue to grow and create high-quality jobs, and Kenosha County is pleased to welcome Eli Lilly and others to our growing corporate landscape.”
In addition, Kenosha Area Business Alliance President Nicole Ryf issued the following statement:
“We are excited to welcome a world-class company like Eli Lilly to Kenosha County. With its four higher education institutions, robust infrastructure and transportation network, skilled workforce, and proximity to major metro areas, Kenosha County is an ideal location for this type of manufacturing.
“Family-owned Nexus Pharmaceuticals had the vision to build in the Prairie Highlands Corporate Park, and we are grateful for their past investment and community support and wish them well in their future endeavors.”
