An Illinois company that makes hand sanitizer and cleaning products plans a move to Pleasant Prairie where it sees the potential to hire up to 100 people within three months.
RealChem Manufacturing is seeking village approval to move its management offices and production from Mundelein to an existing LakeView Corporate Park building at 7844 102nd St. The company mixes and packages janitorial and disinfectant products which are labeled and sold under their clients’ brand names. It is seeing a boost in demand that will add to its workforce, according to applications filed with the village of Pleasant Prairie.
“We were proposing to add 50 new production employees, but that has changed,” according to an Oct. 26 email from RealChem managing director Kerston Russell to village officials. “It looks like we have a couple of new customers that are going to require that we put on a second shift sooner than we thought.”
The company said it has 50 current employees. The 75 to 100 it would add to meet the new demand includes 25 second-shift workers. About 12 senior management employees would work in the facility, and eight more will be hired in the Kenosha area, Russell’s email said.
