Pharmaceutical company Eli Lilly has “a lot of things in the works” for its newly acquired Pleasant Prairie facility according to John Cook, executive director of manufacturing during Monday’s Village Plan Commission meeting.
Monday’s items were site and operation plans, and an amendment to the planned unit development ordinance for the facility, formerly owned by Nexus, at 10300 128th Ave.
The changeover has already occurred, Cook said, however there is a transitional period that ends in October. The facility is part of a long-term commitment to the village, Cook said.
According to village documents, the facility manufactures sterile injectable pharmaceuticals. Products are produced as pre-filled syringes or in glass vial formats for a variety of pharmacological applications.
The total area of the site is 696,960 square feet, while the building is 39,388 square feet. It has 133 full time employees, with several future expansions planned on the site.
