Uline Inc. is seeking approval to build a 1.4 million-square-foot distribution center at its Kenosha campus, furthering the packaging company’s rapid footprint expansion in Kenosha County

That new building would be along 38th Street, next to the city of Kenosha campus where Uline built more than 3.3 million square feet in four warehouses, the last completed in 2021. Uline since that time has filed for local permit approvals to lease other buildings in the area, in addition to the properties it owns.

The proposed 1.4 million-square-foot facility reflects the increasing scale of warehouses being developed along Interstate 94, many by out-of-state developers looking to lease them to companies such as Uline or Amazon.com, for example.

Uline’s planned next building would have 476 total truck dock doors, or 238 on each lengthy side of the rectangular building. Those sides are 2,357 feet long, according to plans filed for city review, or the length of about six-and-a-half football fields.

The new distribution center would cover a portion of the more than 335 acres Uline purchased last summer adjacent to its city of Kenosha campus. The company is based in Pleasant Prairie, where it has other facilities near Interstate 94.
