As Kenosha County’s industrial building boom continues, the city of Kenosha will consider three different apartment projects this week that would collectively add 424 apartment units in the city, including 160 in the downtown area.
The city’s plan commission will consider all three projects Thursday evening. Here’s a look at the proposals, which are all in the early development stages.
Abby Brzezinski of Waukesha’s Red Sky Partners is expected to present a concept plan for a proposed apartment development called Breeze Landing that would add a total of 264 units on around 15 acres just south of 80th Street and west of 30th Avenue in Kenosha.
There would be 12 two- and three-story buildings with 164 one-bedroom units and 100 two-bedroom units, according to the concept plan. The development would have amenities including a clubhouse, dog park and community gardens.
If it moves forward, the project would require a conditional use permit, land division and a developer’s agreement, according to a plan commission report.
Mark Ebacher of Woodview Group LLC in Gilberts, Illinois, is seeking a conditional use permit for Simmons Terrace, a five-story, 101-unit apartment building on about an acre at 5939 6th Ave. A in downtown Kenosha.
The project’s estimated value would be $22 million, according to the developer’s application. It would include indoor first-floor and lower-level parking, according to the plans.
