LMI Packaging announced today that it has significantly expanded capacity by investing in and adding three new machines to its production lines. The added capacity and increased efficiencies will allow the Company to increase sales and add more jobs.
With the addition of two new Berhalter Swiss Die-Cutters, LMI has added the most powerful and innovative high-performance die-cutting machine to its organization. The machines can cut a wide variety of materials from aluminum and plastic to paper and composite materials, with punching speeds up to 500 strokes per minute. These machines will provide an increase in LMI’s die cut capacity of roughly 35%.
LMI has also added a new flexographic printing press to its production floor, with a new Mark Andy P7. This print press supports a wide array of applications and substrates like lidding, labels, film, and more. The P7 can accommodate up to a 20-inch web width and reaches speeds up to 1000 feet per minute. As part of the Mark Andy Performance Series, the P7 redefines workflow productivity through its simple design, efficient waste savings and fast changeovers. LMI’s press capacity has been increased by more than 40% due to this investment.
Having these two machines will allow LMI to meet the growing demand for flexible food and beverage packaging.
“We are extremely excited about the significant increased capacity that these investments provide,” said JP Moran, LMI CEO and Owner. “We are coming off back-to-back years of accelerated sales growth, and this added equipment powers the way for another record-setting year in 2022.”
