Majestic closed on the deal Friday after almost two years of being involved in the more than 220-acre site, said Taylor Talt, vice president of the developer based in City Of Industry, Calif. Its future redevelopment will take years to complete, and will refill the property with buildings for manufacturing, research and development, and distribution. Dairyland, east of Interstate 94 at Highway 158, hosted its last race in late 2009.
Majestic’s first building could have 500,000 to 750,000 square feet, and be complete in 24 to 36 months, Talt said. Majestic already is pursuing a handful of companies that have “requirements,” or requests to lease or own new buildings.
